End of Life Doula

Judy is an End of Life Doula.

 

Death is mainly a medical procedure, a Doula assists in helping take back control. An End of Life Doula is a companion who walks beside those who have a diagnosis of a life limiting disease.

 

This includes, but is not limited to:

​

  • Conversations with a trained listener

  • Assistance with Advance Planning, helping people to express their preferences for their death including where they want to die, whom they want to be with them

  • Advance decisions to refuse treatment which takes pressure of those supporting the person whether they be family or friends

  • Helping the person tie up loose ends and guiding them to decide what they still want, and need to do

  • Supporting the family

  • Demystifying the last few days of end of life
